ACMUS: Design and Simulation of Music Listening Environments
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes an interdisciplinary project on room acoustics. The main goals of this project is to identify and analyse the relevant acoustical parameters for small rooms used for music production – concert halls, studios, lecture rooms, movie theatres, etc. – and, using modern methodologies for software development, build computational tools to evaluate and manipulate these parameters. We describe a computational environment ACMUS -which will provide tolls for measuring acoustical parameters in small rooms, and for simulating the acoustic behaviour of those rooms.

متن کاملDetection of independent functional networks during music listening using electroencephalogram and sLORETA-ICA.
The measurement of brain activation during music listening is a topic that is attracting increased attention from many researchers. Because of their high spatial accuracy, functional MRI measurements are often used for measuring brain activation in the context of music listening. However, this technique faces the issues of contaminating scanner noise and an uncomfortable experimental environmen...
متن کاملListening Between the Notes: Aesthetic Chills in Everyday Music Listening
Who gets chills—a pleasurable feeling of goose bumps—in response to music, and why? The current study used experience sampling to examine within-person variability in aesthetic chills. For one week, 106 undergraduate participants responded to 10 daily surveys, delivered via their cell phones, about their momentary activities, emotions, and environment, with an emphasis on whether they were list...
متن کاملMusic Listening and Stress in Daily Life—a Matter of Timing
PURPOSE Despite increasing evidence suggesting that music listening in daily life has stress-reducing effects, studies mostly rely on subjective, retrospective data on music listening. Thus, the temporal dynamics underlying the stress-reducing effect of music listening remain unclear. Therefore, we aimed to examine the temporal dynamics of the associations between stress and music listening by ...
